We're now looking for a Platforms & Storage Team Lead to manage the Infrastructure Platforms & Storage team and provide technical support for day to day operational activities.

About the Role

  • Manage a technical team of 5 Infrastructure Platforms & Storage Engineers/Senior Engineers, as direct reports.
  • Responsible for effective security, design, provision, configuration, availability and maintenance of infrastructure platforms (hybrid: cloud and on-premise), including NetApp ONTAP and AWS
  • Ensure the operation of the platforms and storage infrastructure meets the daily needs of the business and is supported by internal and third-party suppliers 24/7 or as required
  • Provide an escalation point for high severity problems and action their resolution
  • Work with IT Infrastructure Manager and Network Team Lead in managing the portfolio of technical platforms and storage work, to meet GNM and Enterprise Technology strategic aims
  • Overseeing and planning key projects, providing strategic context and direction to the sub-team; driving projects forward and providing reporting on progress
  • Ensure appropriate processes and documentation are in place across technical design, support, failover testing, backup and recovery and incident response

About You

  • Experience of leading technical teams
  • Experience of manager and driving technical projects to completion
  • Experience of enterprise-level platforms and storage design, implementation, and management
  • Thorough knowledge and experience in maintaining and implementing technology operations, including key infrastructure platforms and storage technologies in a hybrid environment.
  • Knowledge of Prince2 or similar project methodology
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of network technologies in a hybrid cloud/on-premise environment
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Proven documentation skills
