Engagement Manager
We are now looking for an Engagement Manager (12 month FTC) to join The Scott Trust Endowment (STEL). The team sits with and works alongside teams within the Guardian Media Group, offering a unique experience into both an investment function and a media organisation. In this role you will focus on improving the sustainability of the Endowment through engagement with a diverse group of stakeholders. The role interfaces between the responsible and sustainable investment industry and the Chief Investment Officer, Board of STEL and wider Guardian Media Group.
STEL is an endowment that was established in mid-2008 to support the Guardian Media Group. The Endowment enables The Scott Trust to achieve its purpose to secure the financial and editorial independence of the Guardian in perpetuity. The primary objective of the Endowment is to generate strong financial returns; additionally, maximising the opportunity for positive impact is at the heart of the Endowment's investment approach and we have a particular focus on contributing to tackling climate change, protecting nature, and advancing diversity, equity and inclusion in the investment industry and beyond.
This is a fixed-term role for 12 months from December 2025 to November 2026 inclusive.

- Keep key internal stakeholders abreast of developments in the sustainable investment industry, focusing on the implications and defining goals for the Endowment.
- Plan and lead on engagements with STEL's fund managers on sustainability topics of importance to the Endowment.
- Participate in collaborative investor engagements with companies that STEL is part of through Nature Action 100, and maintain engagement with STEL's investor alliances.
- Lead on ad hoc projects where necessary. This will include planning a programme for and managing STEL's summer interns.
- Support the implementation of STEL's environmental strategy, including conducting an annual review of progress against key environmental metrics for the STEL Board.
- Assist with STEL's communications and annual reporting.
- Assist with the review of fund investments for the Endowment.
