This is an immensely creative position where you'll play an integral role in translating client briefs into strategies that inspire brilliant ideas and win pitches.

In Guardian Labs we aim to make brands culturally relevant with our content, producing campaigns that our readers love with content that's persuasive, playfully intelligent and educational.

This whole process begins with a strategist. It's your job to create a vibrant and insightful creative direction for commissioning editors and multimedia producers that is fresh and taps into the cultural zeitgeist. We work in a fast paced department where the variety and diversity of briefs is incredibly stimulating - in one day you could be working on a leading fashion brand, mental health charity and the most anticipated car launch of the year.

In Labs we have the keys to the castle - we have the budgets, creative freedom and blank canvas to come up with ideas that are memorable and award worthy.

About the Role

  • Writing creative proposals built on high quality thinking that results in brilliant ideas.
  • Clear, inspiring articulation of our thinking and ideas in compelling sales narratives.
  • Staying ahead of latest trends and market thinking to ensure we are always ahead of the pack.
  • Making the best use of data to inform both strategy and measurement.
  • Creating innovative and exciting presentations
  • Maintaining close relationships with colleagues across Advertising and Editorial to make the most of the quality, scale and innovation of the Guardian on all Labs work.

About You

  • Deep understanding of the current cultural zeitgeist.
  • A passion for the Guardian and what it stands for.
  • Clear, articulate thinking and writing.
  • Ability to structure compelling arguments using supporting evidence.
  • Curious, bold and brave.
  • Comfortable working with data.

We offer 30 days annual leave per annum, plus an additional 5 day holiday purchase scheme. Our pension scheme is generous; if you contribute 5% then we will contribute 8-12% (depending on your age).
